About this journey

Sri Lanka has one of the highest densities of wild leopards in the world, the famous elephant gatherings of Minneriya, and over 240 resident bird species. This six-day route visits the parks where each species is most likely to be seen.

We coordinate with trusted local jeep operators who know the parks intimately, and time our drives for the cooler dawn and dusk windows when wildlife is most active.

We'll advise on the optimal route and seasonal timing for your travel dates, and adapt the itinerary based on what's being seen each week — wildlife sightings shift park to park, season to season.

What you'll experience

01

Wilpattu Leopards

Sri Lanka's largest and least-crowded national park — known for off-grid leopard sightings and sloth bears among ancient ruins.

02

Minneriya Elephant Gathering

Witness up to 300 wild elephants converge around the receding reservoir in August–September — the largest Asian elephant gathering on Earth.

03

Udawalawe Elephant Transit

The most reliable park in the country for wild elephant sightings, often within minutes of entering.

04

Yala at Dawn

Track leopards, sloth bears, and wild elephants on a dawn jeep safari through the highest predator density in Asia.

05

Bundala Bird Sanctuary

Sri Lanka's first Ramsar wetland — flamingos, painted storks, and over 200 migratory species.

06

Sloth Bears & Crocodiles

Off-the-checklist encounters: shaggy sloth bears foraging in the dry zone, mugger crocodiles basking on riverbanks.
